What is Mold?
Just like a mushroom, mold is a fungus. These fungi reproduce by creating numerous spores, which are released into the air. A spore is a microscopic cell that can grow into a new mold given the proper conditions. All a mold needs to grow are a source of moisture and nutrients. Unfortunately, many components of the common office serve as a source of nutrients. These components include, but are not limited to: paint, wood, wallpaper, fabrics, drywall, and cardboard boxes. Therefore, it is important to minimize the amount of moisture in your home in order to prevent mold overgrowth and a potential hazard for your health.
Allergies and Asthma
If you have allergies or asthma, your body has a reaction to certain "triggers." These triggers can include tobacco smoke, cold air, mold, animal dander, pollen, dust mites, or cockroaches. Only a certified Allergist can tell you which allergens affect you most. However, you can take precautions by reducing the load of potential triggers in your home. There are many options and you can discover the best for you by speaking with one of our certified representatives.
